I think I'd leave it on top over the winter and let the worms come up and do their job. It should keep the weeds down a bi too.

I think that layering it on top will work well. Rain and worms will help incorporate it into the existing soil.

I would just put it on top as well. The no-dig devotees say it’s better for the soil to do this and I guess they are probably right, but I do no-dig also because it’s a lot easier

Were planning on the no dig cardboard approach as well and have been saving cardboard and wool for a while. Fingers crossed it works (or that we do it correctly 😂)

I have some cardboarding to do, but first I need to put the mature compost from the daleks on the area to be covered. And also get all the tape and labels off the cardboard.

Me too, my patch and mum’s somewhat larger raised beds. I don’t have a problem collecting cardboard, a family of online shopping addicts sees to that.
