Hi all I’m a 48 year old husband and dad to two children aged 6 & 9 and am struggling with my energy levels. I’m shattered most nights and falling asleep at 6:30.
Now I’m doing a bit of research into vitamins and supplements I can take to help. There seem to be three options; a cheap £3 a month Aldi multi vitamin, a £15 a month mid range multi vitamin and then the expensive mail order £79 option.
I generally have a good diet and don’t drink much alcohol, and try to get a decent amount of sleep, and obviously try and keep myself fit, running and cycling.
I’m looking for a bit of advice from people who’ve found a vitamin that works for them or advice from professionals, and to help others in the same position.
All advice greatly received.

There are a lot more likely explanations for being constantly tired than a vitamin deficiency. Having 2 small kids, a full time job and being closer to 50 than to 40 amongst them!
I'd agree with the advice above: Get the basics checked out by your GP and look at how much sleep you're getting, whilst maybe making sure your macronutrients in your diet are sufficient for what you're trying to do.
If you want a vitamin supplement then a basic multivitamins and minerals daily tablet from a supermarket is as good as anything unless your doc tells you there's a specific and major shortfall somewhere. Generally we're going to be getting enough of all the vits and mins we need unless were on a restricted diet of some sort but a general multi vit and min supplement daily can act as a back-up and put your mind at rest (I take one despite being fairly sure I'm fine from food sources but I'm a vegetarian so there might be a shortfall on iron perhaps on some days).

I suggested blood tests, but I agree with what Nellers said about the most likely explanation.

I'm a veggie, who doesn't cook well, so eat loads of ready meals. I take a multivit with D, a cod liver oil but the main one is a big, fat 300mg per day ferrous sulfate iron supplement. That last one was on prescription at 2 x per day initially, after a GP test and a failed Hb level giving blood.
I now just buy them and take 1 per day. No idea if any of them help, but I don't fail my Hb test at blood donation any more!
Best of luck. (My first answer was going to be to sell the children, but wasn't sure if that would quite work on a text based forum on t'interwebs! ) G
