Go big or go home. I'd love to take 2 mins off my PB. Well, 2m 16s to be precise

2:16 you say jda? Pah! I’ll be taking 13:22 off my PB to achieve my goal of sub 3:15. Banking on the Alphafly’s to help me, but I don’t think I’ll get it this time around as my progress started going backwards a few weeks ago. Aim big, fail big.lol

Hmmm, a slight concern is that my right foot is hurting. I have been managing it for a few weeks and got around my recent race with no pain at all, but it almost stopped me in my tracks today. I was pacing at my local parkrun at an easy pace for me, but felt it at the start of the 3rd mile. I got the parkrun done but then had to run/walk home as it was too sore to run really. I have had this before and was told it most definitely wasn't a SF, so I need to get on with the massage etc, and hope it clears up. I was supposed to be doing a Half tomorrow but I have just torn my number up so I am not tempted to do anything stupid tomorrow morning!

Good luck 🍀 with the training, everyone 😁
I was wiped out after doing a half two weeks ago in gale force winds, but I've recovered now, had lower back muscle spasm but sorted it out with yoga and ibuprofen gel.
I'm really looking forward to Manchester marathon, it will be my second ever marathon, aiming for 3:45, i got 3:54 at Chester so I think it's achievable. It will be nice to do one in my home city, easy to get there on the team.
Nice fresh spring days are here ⛅🌼🌻☀️ I'm looking forward to going out for 19 miles tomorrow
I hope to see some of you there ☺️

Mr. Grumpy
Ran an almost four minute PB (in Alphafly’s) in a HM this morning as a tester for Manchester in April. It’s given me a big confidence boost for breaking 3:15, even though my training fell off a cliff last month. Best wishes everyone!

Indeed! Sub 1:30 was my ultimate target for the year, so I’m well pleased with hitting it already. I thought I’d be quite a bit under, but my watch measured 140m over, and I wasn’t taking any notice of the mile markers as I work in km’s. Watch timed at 1:29:59 also, so I had a bit of a sweat on waiting for the official time to come through.

Just looking back at my 2020 training log, and it was on Friday of this equivalent week that Manchester 2020 was cancelled.
