Just trying to figure out logistics for this. I have a room booked Fri-Mon, but I can change that if I need to. I was originally going to fly up from Exeter, but the flights were cancelled. Some club mates have offered to take me up in their car (Fri-Sunday), which is very kind, but they are staying out of town whereas I am staying in the centre (Premier Inn City Centre West, M3 5EN), so I am not sure how easy it will be to meet up, as I will need to give them my suitcase before race start.
Is there any advice on a car park, easily walkable from my hotel, but close enough to the race start, that we could meet up at so I could give them my suitcase?

I need to start thinking about logistics too. I live about 40 mins away which saves me a hotel overnight but probably means a very early start.

Mr. Grumpy
I drove through on the morning last year due to the uncertainty with the tram strike, and will do so again this year. I don’t mind the early start, as it gives my breakfast time to settle on the way through. It’s about an hour drive, and twenty minutes walk to the start, but the big bonus then is the easy route home. Would be at least three hours with all the tram and train connections.

My Airbnb cancelled abruptly a couple of weeks ago and I had to look around for another which is a bit less convenient. Am thinking of driving a couple of km through the suburbs in the morning to park within easier walking distance of the start.
The start system sounds a bit fussy, hope it’s more flexible than it says!

I have read the blurb, but it doesn't specifically say as far as I can see. Can we leave a (reasonably sized) ruck sack at the bag drop? Or do they provide a bag that we have to use for the bag drop?

I'm in blue A
I'm impressed by everyone on this thread in the red wave, you're almost in with the elites 🤩
I've been feeling really knackered since I did the Great North West Half Marathon last Sunday in gale force winds, it was brutal! Been feeling wiped out all week 😩 my lower back is feeling achy and is really stiff and inflexible. Been doing some yoga which helps a bit. I have 18 miles planned for tomorrow, but I'm wondering whether to not go out and rest, or just do a shorter distance. Maybe do it next weekend, and my 20 mile peak as planned the week after.
Any advice would be gratefully received, thanks 😊

It's a good time to pile on the miles so long as you're not injuring yourself. IMO. I'm feeling like I'm in last chance saloon to get properly fit. My HM test is next weekend so I'm planning a long one tomorrow morning.

Big_G, Rucksacks were fine last year. They’re not getting transported to a different collection point, so they don’t impose the same constraints as the likes of London.
