I've just booked a parking space on someone's drive using the justpark app. It's equidistant (20 mins walk) from both the start and the finish. 10 quid. Who needs to worry about the tram? I made sure it was outside of the blocked roads too.

Mr. Grumpy
Wasn’t aware of the App, so just downloaded it and done the same. A bit further out, but I don’t mind the walk there and back. No worries in finding somewhere to park on the morning now, and easy to get out for the drive home afterwards. Cheers!

Latest info just released here manchestermarathon.co.uk - There will be limited Metrolink service (only the Altrincham and Trafford Centre lines running) - There will be shuttle bus from the city centre - Parking available at MUFC (for £10, likely to be limited) |

I remember when I lived in Timperley each year I received a marathon-day road closure leaflet inserted into the envelope with my Council Tax bill, but given the October date this year (rather than traditional April) I suppose that is not possible. That said, I've seen quite a few road closure warning signs along Edge Lane Jen, don't they direct people to the race website (& possibly a phone number) for further info? |

No. Just says ‘Road closed between 7 am and 7 pm’ I think. I’m just thanking my lucky stars that my running club refused to provide marshals due to previous abuse when the half went through Chorlton in 2019!

Even if they do say that (I can’t be bothered to go and look) that wouldn’t be enough to warn people in my block of streets that we’re effectively locked in for 12 hours.

Very helpful Nelly, thanks! Pls excuse a clueless Londoner coming up to Manchester for the first time - if i go for the Metrolink option, do i need to buy a separate ticket in advance or the trams accepts contactless tap-ins? Thanks! |

On the platform, can’t buy tickets on the tram.
