The big question is clearly "Will it go ahead, or won't it?"
I am assuming a significant proportion of Fetchies entered for 2020 will have transferred their places into the 2021 race. Given London has been put back to October '21, I wonder whether we will see a few new faces.
Anyway, chat away... any questions ask away... any recommendations we're happy to hear them... let us know how your training is/isn't going... or feel free to lurk until the end of March and then share your hourly weather forecast watching worries...

I am in. I will train hard. I don't expect it to go ahead but I hope it will.

I'm in. The way I see it, it won't happen if we are still under anything like current restrictions of mini-waves and time trials etc. It's just far too big to organise like that.
So my plan is to spend a couple of months building some steady miles and losing a bit of lockdown weight, hoping to get round a half marathon late Oct. My 18 week Manchester plan doesn't start until Dec and things will have changed multiple times by then anyway. No need to spend too much time wondering about it for now. There are lots of reasons it might happen, and also lots of reasons it might not. Things may be clearer by Dec, though I suspect there will still be significant uncertainty.
I did book my (cancellable) airbnb a while back though
If it does happen I could imagine a super-strong field for the reason Nelly mentions. Which would be fun, especially in the final 6 miles when it's usually thinned out a lot.

I hope it goes ahead. Injured so deferred 2019 place. Then it just kept rolling on. Feel might be now or never...

I’d deferred anyway due to injury, was gutted as it’s supposed to be my first (assuming I don’t crack & go for a virtual VMLM). I’m hoping they give us some kind of indication later this year but if not... no training is ever really wasted is it?

I'm in too but have some reservations about whether it'll really happen. I'll need to get some refundable logistics in place and then think about getting my head in to some training!
thanks for getting us organised, again, Nelly!

I'm in. Deferred my 2020 place back in January. I booked accommodation ages ago, but with the usual cancel up to the day Premier Inn!!
No idea currently if I can get to the start line. I have knee damage which isn't repairable and has massively hindered my running since late last year. Anything into double figures miles-wise it seems to object to, despite loads of leg strength and physio work. I'm devastated to be honest and not yet given up hope, I'm just plugging away with the strength work and what limited running I can do. This pandemic has done me a favour in terms of buying me time to try and get myself fixed, but maybe I'm just prolonging an inevitable decision that I'm no longer a distance runner....

Great to see both some new and familiar faces on the thread. I hope we can all meet-up in April and enjoy a post race pint together!
I'd noticed the amount of non-running work you'd been doing Clare, but I hadn't realised it was because your knee was still limiting you; fingers crossed your rehab will allow you to make your Manchester marathon debut.
WW - get that accommodation booked, and stop sandbagging on those 10ks... if anybody needs to get their head in to some training we both know it's me more than you!
Spanners - how is your prep for the inaugural Timperley marathon coming along?
