I think I’ll drive up on the morning then instead of staying over the night before. Does anyone know whether there’s any on-street parking around the Ordsall Park area or a bit further out? When the strike first got mentioned, I had a quick look for a car park in that area, but there doesn’t seem to be anything. I’m ideally wanting that area for easy access onto the A57 to get home after the event.

I would be wary of security parking around Ordsall Park as it used to be dodgy, but then that was my experience a few years ago so maybe…….

Cheers UD. I’ll get there early enough to go a bit further out if it looks too dodgy. I don’t mind walking a couple of miles or so to the start.

I usually do an Airbnb around the Chorlton area and there’s lots of street parking and a reasonable walk in/out.

I live just off Edge Lane which is on the route. In fact my street is completely surrounded by the race route (so I ain’t going anywhere in the car then!) I’ve just seen a few rather small signs (several of them obscured by trees) that says the road is closed 7 am to 7 pm. We’ve had nothing through the door. Obviously I’m ok with all this and will be out supporting but I hope they have the police on standby because I foresee trouble ahead!

A response from the organiser's to a Facebook comment suggests that "some trams" will be running, and that Metrolink "resources [will be] focused on serving runners & volunteers". Expect an update by the end of tomorrow.
