Apparently this weekend’s strike has been cancelled, so fingers crossed the negotiations continue to be positive, such that the strike on marathon day can also be cancelled.

Got my race number now. I’m thinking of avoiding the trams as last time they were extremely crowded before and after.

Mr. Grumpy
I get what you’re saying regarding the crowding UD, but it’s gonna be a right PITA for a lot of people (me included) if the trams aren’t running on the day. The cancellation of this weekends strike is encouraging. I’ve booked to stay in the city centre the night before, but if the strike does go ahead, I might just drive up on the morning instead.

From what I've read this morning, even though the marathon week strike has not been called-off yet, there appears to be a general expectation it will be
UD if anything I am expecting the trams to be a little less busy than previous years because of the staggered start times (& thus finish times). The trams to/from the City Centre, and to a lesser extent Altrincham, are always busy, but if you can get to Sale Water Park (for example) then they're not quite as bad on the Airport line.

I know I’ve seen the equivalent info at least 7 or 8 times previously, but given the special circumstances this year I was expecting slightly more from the event guide this year rather than less:-
... - No details of number or location of Gel stations. ...
At least they've now addressed this (from Facebook/Instagram). 3.1 - Water 6.1 - Water & Gels 9.5 - Water 12 - Water & Gels 16.6 - Water 18.8 - Water & Gels 21.8 - Water & Gels 24.8 - Water & Gels

That's right Ingo, SIS Go gels (not the newer, and more expensive, Beta Gels). In the past SIS Caffeine gels have been available at the last couple of aid stations.

Early bird 2022 entries close today I believe. Should I, or shouldn't I?
