Ah Right, so you will have started behind the Elites and Champs runners as well as Blue Wave 1. As the ladies champs times are around 3:45 there will have been some of those people to pick through plus anyone who got in wave 1 and badly predicted their time for whatever reason.
Red GFA is usually best for a fast start. I had similar challenges on the once I set off from Blue and at Green you have to fight your way through the celebs

On reflection I did actually overtake more people than overtook me (starting in Wave 3 on green having put 3:30 as my prediction).
It was however much better than when I was on Red back in 2017 (with a 3:45 prediction). That year I overtook 9938 runners and was only overtaken by 140 (stats are available on the results for that year, not seen it against this year though).
Not sure how they can change that short of requiring verifiable qualifying times.
I saw quite a few people with their double medals. There was scope for 3 if you also earned the London Classics medal

Make that 4 - 2 for VLM, 1 for the London Classics, and 1 for the six Majors

The women's championship time is sub 3:15 and they would have been from the first wave of Blue, so before wave 1 which I think went at 9:33.
The Yellow/ Red first section is normally the Fast GFA start, so anyone with a 2:40-3:05 time approximately. Normally very few females as those fast enough should really be in the championship start. This year I believe the Yellow start (front of Red) was actually the v50+ age groups for both genders, might have been a few non age group championship but still fast GFA people in there as I saw a few yellow numbers about who were clearly not v50, but I knew a few v50+ females starting in wave 1 there.
Think Blue wave 2 was all just m+f v40-44 and wave 2 m+f v45-49, not certain about wave 3, but wave 4 seemed to be non age group people. Didn't see anyone in Blue wave 1 or 2 without the age group numbers on the back, and we were all the same age groups.
The Yellow fast GFA is by far the best start in normal years and despite being crowded for the first miles you don't get tripped as everyone is on the same pace. This year there was way more variation in pace with people with totally different standards all mixed in together. Blue wave 2 for instance would have had men with 2:41 times through to women with 3:52 times, the wave 3 could have had a few 2:41 men mixed in with it as well as they were place by age rather than time.

There was scope for 3 if you also earned the London Classics medal Or four if you did the 6 star finish as well. Although the chances of London being your last major and to also have done the Classics and be a UK resident for the GFA qualification is limited I guess.
I did enjoy walking around with the two medals clanking away.

It didn't help that I started a little too quick, passed loads of people upto 10 miles, needed the portaloo (2 mins), then had to pass a few hundred of the same people again.
I guess a few of those I passed had to get around me in the last 6 miles as I faded 😬 😆

I'm pretty sure I'll get it sorted, might just take a bit of chasing, just want a reply confirming that they'll send me one, no desperate rush for it but the medal looked really nice!

Brunski - I’m sure it will too. It is certainly an impressive medal.
