I did put my stuff in a bag and wore none of it. So I just had a wet bag full of dry heavy things to carry during the long two mile walk to my hotel

I do think that London Marathon events may have made a mistake in not allowing for the possibility of rain, probably as previously the bags have stayed covered on the Lorry's, so it probably wasn't even considered.
Opted for a hydration vest, as I wasn't meeting anyone at the end, and wanted to ensure that I had everything, Gels, keys, phone, debit card, and whilst I still used the water stations, I at least didn't need to panic and dart across the course at 90 degree angles, as some seemed to need to do.

I would be seriously pi**ed of if my belongings were soaking wet at the end. Totally irresponsible of the organisers.

The not having a bag drop at the start is a big logistical problem for me. I have to carry a fair amount of backup medical supplies with me when going away for an overnight trip, whilst I left some "non perishable" spare kit behind until the next visit at Christmas, being without spares of other items that I couldn't just throw away was something I've never done before and didn't fill me with happy thoughts contemplating if things went wrong. It very rarely happens that things go wrong, but would go badly very quickly without the spare drugs on me.
Even without my medical issues, just for someone doing something as basic as wearing daily contact lenses for example would struggle. What do they then do with their glasses after putting lenses in on the morning of the race but with no drop bag?

I’m sure everyone here knows, but possibly worth pointing out that the 2022 ballot entry is open until 21:00 on Friday.

For the first time since I started doing races I'm not entering the ballot so that's an extra chance for someone else.

DOMS surprisingly not too bad but have some ITB aches and pains from everything tightening up. I've enjoyed recovering today, spent some quality time with the foam roller and ate hot and sour soup which tasted like nectar of the gods.
Re logistical issues of not having a bag drop- I saw a lot of people on FB before the race worried about medication like insulin and one guy who runs on a running blade wondering how he could switch from his regular prosthetic to a blade. Wonder what they all ended up doing in the end, hope it was ok.

What does the little satellite next to a runners name in the results mean?
