Seems some more 'holding pages' have appeared on facebook...Buckingham, Reigate Prior, Rickmansworth. And Great Cornard are speaking of a provisional date of 1st March, excellent planning!

OMG. Reigate Priory! That's walking distance from my house.
And also where the local running club train. This should be interesting.

NOOOOO! I rarely get up before 9 on any day, let alone Saturdays. There's a nice caff, though. I understand that's the most important feature of a Park Run.

So - what's it mean when a placeholder goes in? (i.e. a facebook holding page) - is it just that someone's expressed an interest in setting up a parkrun in a particular town? Or does it mean there's actual stuff a-happening?

The facebook placeholder is virtually always put in by parkrun HQ when there is firm commitment that a parkrun is going to start, i.e. there is a person who has shown the commitment as an Event Director to get the thing running. If someone creates a facebook page of this style 'without permission' then they usually get asked to change the name/image of the page by parkrun HQ so it doesn't look official (as was the case a few pages back).
