Interesting post in this week's newsletter (http://www.parkrun.org.uk/news/2013/11/07/weekly-newsletter-6th-november-2013/):

"Looking in our global list of upcoming events right now we have six more UK events scheduled to start in 2013 and another eight around the World"

So looks like we might have the current list for the rest of 2013 ;-) :P :-)

I seem to recall reading somewhere that parkrun HQ don't like to have UK inaugurals in Decemeber.

Yeap, pretty sure you are right mt.

Something to do with being close to xmas and as a result the B'day would always being close to xmas.

(if memory serves me correctly).

If you're referring to this page facebook.com then I'm pretty sure that it isn't an official page mainly as the title is incorrect, i.e. Park Run Kirkaldy, but also that the posts say they have just contacted HQ. I wouldn't be surprised if HQ asked them to delete it, as they should have set up a group, rather than page if they're in the process of formulating a new event. HQ do the setting up of the official pages, when the event is about to start.

Ah, I've just read the latest post on that facebook page and it does seem they have been asked to change the name and branding by HQ...

There may be an inaugural parkrun happening near you. Best to check with the local parkrun volunteers to see if they want you to know about it or not.

Otherwise there are plenty of already established parkruns to go to in the UK and abroad, see: parkrun.org.uk
