Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Let's talk about inaugural parkruns after they've happened.

Watch what you say around here Percy, the ED might be watching ;-) I say if people are going to make to make Dinton Pastures their home run then come and run the inaugural, no issue. If you are local and want to try a different venue, maybe wait a couple of weeks. If you are coming from afar then let us bed-in and the numbers settle before you come visit.

By the way, it's a third event for Wokingham, Reading only has one event...

iRicey, it is. Reading have said they will cancel in the winter if the conditions get bad and advise runners to go to other events such as Prospect, Woodley, Dinton, Bracknell, Henley etc.

Dinton looks like it could be doable from Winnersh train station CW? We wont come to event 1, but have done some of the local ones. The drive is often subject to large amounts of traffic coming back towards us though so the train option is useful :)

Hi Curly,

yes, very accessible from Winnersh. Its 2Km from the station to the start line. Just come out of the station, turn left, keep going over the motorway bridge and the car park entrance is on the left.

CW: is it the same course the same as Ellie's events? As I ran round there the other night I just kept thinking - this would make a great parkrun course / venue.

Nope, it's different from Barnes Fitness and the winter Reading course. 2 (mainly different) laps on the west of the park.

Sorry I am confused as Reading already has 3 x parkruns being Reading, Woodley and Prospect
Dinton is where "Reading" relocate to during bad weather....

There may be an inaugural parkrun happening near you. Best to check with the local parkrun volunteers to see if they want you to know about it or not.

Otherwise there are plenty of already established parkruns to go to in the UK and abroad, see: parkrun.org.uk
