:-)

I'm thinking of the Selby one. There's nowt on the local running club site, there's no Facebook page that I can see. To be honest, Selby's struggling for a park of a reasonable enough size unless it's a 5-lap jobbie.

Burn airfield would make sense. Bit of a drive for a coffee afterwards though.

Confirmed on the same document that confirmed Bressay, Colney Lane, Eastville etc. (from one of my previous posts) which is clearly accurate as Normanby Hall has now got a start date.

Selby parkrun has not been confirmed, "fake news" as they say.

Selby parkrun is on the parkrun document as a "Confirmed future 5k".

This is going back a few pages but

"At the end of the race they channelled you into lines and some guy with a clipboard took your number and somehow allocated you a time."

It would have been more accurate than "somehow allocated you a time". Finish line had 1 person with watch and 1 with clipboard. Timer shouted 30:20, 30:25, 2 at 30:45, 4 at 31:00 etc and scribe wrote them down.

Then some guy with a clipboard wrote down race numbers in order as they queued up.

Finally someone had to manually merge the timer, finish order and entry lists and publish results a few days later.

This is the same that parkrun do but we have a watch that captures position and time, tokens/scanners for positions and software that merges and publishes them almost instantly.

Whinlatter Forest doesn't have a parkrun page yet but a news post by Keswick parkrun said the following:

Whinlatter parkrun now has a start date of 13th January, which should get the New Year off to a great start - but please don't all go up there that day!

There may be an inaugural parkrun happening near you. Best to check with the local parkrun volunteers to see if they want you to know about it or not.

Otherwise there are plenty of already established parkruns to go to in the UK and abroad, see: parkrun.org.uk
