@JJJ - and the same as XC matches up and down the country still do regularly. It amazes me, but the Manchester Area XC League with about 400 senior men in the largest race (at 2:30pm) gets the results online usually by about 4:30pm the same day, and its all handtimed and all hand marked in terms of race order.

Puts many other athletics and running timing systems to shame (though not, I may say, parkrun).

We only got numbers for cross country last season. Before that you gave your name to be recorded. I have had to have a competitor give my name being barely able to breathe after a 'spirited' uphill finish.

Not an inaugural as such, but maybe it is....

Some of you will be aware of the Caldicot/Rogiet saga.

Caldicot parkrun started in July, then after about 7 or 8 weeks got suspended due to disputes over access rights on the course (and a landrover driving down it during parkrun).

After a few weeks of suspension, a new course was found (can't have been too hard to find - it is the other side of the road in the Country Park). A little bit of work was required, but after suspension Caldicot parkrun would be back - although at some point it would be renamed Rogiet parkrun.

Caldicot parkrun restarted on the new course a couple of weeks ago.

This week, for the first time it is no longer Caldicot parkrun, it is Rogiet parkrun.

BUT

The way it is on the website at the moment shows it as being a NEW parkrun rather than a renaming. It is showing as events "0". Whether that will all work its way through after the first event, and things can then be linked together....no idea.

Sorry, can't find how to edit my post but the links shouldn't have a bracket on the end.

Presumably not run through the glass houses? Or even alongside?

I'd call that alongside...

Starts up in the carpark and zig-zags down into the crater.

Oh wow. That looks brilliant. :-)

About This Thread

Maintained by sLickster
There may be an inaugural parkrun happening near you. Best to check with the local parkrun volunteers to see if they want you to know about it or not.

Otherwise there are plenty of already established parkruns to go to in the UK and abroad, see: parkrun.org.uk
