I'm hoping my climbers strategy comes good as we get into the hills....

In past TdFs Froome has stormed up the first mountain and then held on to win the GC. Given his stated intent to be strong in the 3rd week this may not happen today. Not even Inner Ring has mentioned him at all. This is either going to be correct or a massive bluff. I cannot decide on which option to select but given his inability to hold back seen in previous years, particularly 2012, I think if Froomey sees an opportunity he will smash it.
Alaphilipe otherwise, looking forward to today after 2 snooze fests.

Not a Froome blasting away day. Only a cat 3 before a short downhill to the finish. I like the Alaphilipe/Dan Martin/Valverde. It's not inconceivable that Sagan can be in there if the pace over the Cat.2s isn't too high and he's trying to hold on to the jersey.

INRNG rates Alaphilippe for today, I nearly picked him. That I didn't surely means he'll win something.

I was in this very area a couple of weeks ago (walking and driving, I don't do cycling :-o). It's going to look glorious if it's a good weather day.

We drove up to Pas de Peyrol by the 'other' road (3 meet at the top), and then came down the same way they'll descend today. That's a main road, should be no issues. But - the Col du Perthus is tough; narrow, twisty, and not consistent gradients. I imagine it all coming apart there.

Alaphilippe is bookies fave 9/2 and looked strong on stage 2. Dan Martin looked super strong in the Dauphine though and is undervalued at 11/1. I have both in my team. Ahem.

Chavanel a possibility today. Maybe Cummings? And if there's still a big group together, I wouldn't rule out Sagan - he should be good enough hang on over a couple of Cat 2s.

I actually skied at Le Lioran a few years ago. The snow was poor, the resort is small and the lifts very slow!

I don't think Froome will target a win today but he'll want to be up there and not lose time. He may take the chance if nobody else is looking strong. I'd like Cummings to have a go, or Bardet

An Alaphilippe win would be terrible for me as well. Picked Rolland instead.

Will be interesting to see if they let a break go, but I can see Sky, Movistar, and Astana wanting to test Contador and if he's weak it will end up being fast.

Surely it's about time for this year's thread? Froome vs Quintana vs Contador vs Nibali is all go again... Will it be the same once more?
