He's in the game because he's suffering due to crashes rather than his form, but hasn't lost an insurmountable amount of time. If he recovers, the third week provides enough terrain for an attacking rider like him to gain time providing he has the form.
Obviously, as you say, there's a danger he will lose a lot more time before he recovers.

Great call Chris on selecting GVA.
Our leader has Nibali and Contador, looks like you might have a tough job on your hands staying there Oranj....

GTA will have yellow till at least Sunday I think so a few more points to come for Chris. Not good when there's Froome and Quintana to come. Need Greipel to start winning a few.
Apart from Contador, my climbers are doing a decent job. Sunday is probably the day we see what shape everyone's in.
There's a KOM game that is from Saturday for the nine mountain stages after that, is anyone interested?

nice to see in the KOM game that you get some transfers, much more interesting than just choosing at the beginning.

I think it makes sense for that type of game. In terms of the standard game, it's unfortunate when you end up with injuries but I like that it means there are hard choices to make at the start of the race.
I've played Telegraph FF over the last two years and I like that it has transfers but not too much. Their Euros game was too high maintenance though.

The no abandons mean that's a record distance into the tour with a full compliment.

Thanks PtB, looks like I made some dodgy choices for this stage of the race - Nibali and Contador. Oh well, see you all in Paris, eh?

Only just got back from long day of award at school for teenage son and car breaking down afterwards, but delighted to see GVA in the highlights putting everyone to the sword, he's been an exceptional rider for a while and have read quite a bit about the classics in the last year and Eddy Merckx bio,so had to have a rider from the lowlands in the team. Quietly happy with my team currently, but it only takes an unfortunate crash to change everything.
