That is good, Rosehip.

The first time I attempted the Lakeland 100 I did not treat it with sufficient respect.

I’m looking forward to it. Wave every one off. Walk the dogs. Tea and cake somewhere. But of supporting. Back at the finish with a beer or two. Good times πŸ˜€

I need to have a conversation at home, I think Husband has forgotten I’m doing this. In fairness, I haven’t reminded him since it looked like the roadmap would let it happen- Easter-ish

I like your plan Dave. We're staying in the lakes for a week after so minus the supporting and dog walking bit... I'll be doing the rest.
I'm not scared of the 100, I love the idea of the challenge and with never having done it previously I have no benchmark time to beat. I'm still there to race so will just have to see what happens and make sure I get to the finish!

I was so looking forward to the 50 but have had to pull out due to injury. I am now waving my husband and daughter off followed by a walk, copious cups of tea in any establishment I find then back to pick up the pieces of said relatives. We are staying in the lakes for the following week, I can't wait!

You've done more training than I have - are you sure you're out?

I am definitely out, we spent a day having fun in the lakes a couple of weeks back and it became apparent my feet are in a bad way and will not cope trying to complete 50 miles in under 24 hours. I could manage the distance if I had a bit more time but the residual effect of an accident nearly 40 years ago has put paid to my attempt to conquer the race. I shall have to come up with a new challenge once I have got over the disappointment of failing this one.
