Apparently so, Phal - sure I read a discussion about cups a while back nd they said it was easier to say not at all collapsible than get into arguments about where to draw the line.

I will probably take an old plastic cup from a flask, we've got loads of those floating around - unless it would be better to take one with a lid so I can sip and walk?

I always carry cash and a card when I'm more than a couple of miles from home, so would do that anyway out of habit.

Phal, yes from 2019 I think, the cups they'd previously distributed were declared illegal....

You can take a collapsible cup in addition to the solid cup but not solely a collapsible. Reason being they had issues with runners getting burnt with the hot drinks I'm sure I read.

I'll be taking both collapsible and solid!

Yep same here. I have a Light My Fire one which is excellent for chugging coke (and hot drinks) which I will be bringing with me but respect the solid cup rule so bringing one of those too

Disaster during my early morning run. Tight right hamstring may have developed into something worse. Whatever, no more running until Friday 23rd.

I think my brain can vaguely remember all of the crap that went on then about the cups. For some reason my brain tends to forget trivial nonsense along those lines of runners ranting about stuff πŸ˜‰ trivial nonsense I can remember is in the general category of song lyrics from the 1990s and early 2000s.

Looks like the pink plastic baby sippy cup (emergency purchase pre first ultra that wanted a solid cup; it was an LDWA event) will be getting another outing then πŸ˜€

I definitely didn’t get my kit out that I’m thinking of wearing and put it on the bed in the spare room the other day πŸ˜‰ I have one more combination of shorts to try this weekend… my plan is to walk it anyway (have done no running training) but need a warm weather shorts option…. Going up Dungeon Gyll the other week the option was just β€˜take walking shorts off and walk in short skins’ (that sounds wrong - it needs a capital S) which did work but was a faff.

Anyway. I’m rambling.

I've had various kit piles on a currently spare bed for ages :)

tough luck Fenners, hopefully, it's a short-lived something that will go away with a bit of rest.

I've just had a massage, a couple of painful knots wheedled out of quad and my knee feels a bit better. Investigating the (placebo?) power of KT tape will be next, but I'm walk-jog-walk-crawling my way around whatever :)
