Thanks V. I had a funny feeling I should have got Mudrocs inctead of Roclites. I slipped a couple of times wearing Brooks trail shoes but to be honest I don't usually wear them on grassy slopes, and they are fine for the WHW. Oh well, more shopping

The X-Talons were brilliant on the wet grassy descents at Garburn, but would probably be overkill for something like this ... on the other hand, they cope amazingly well with rough stuff, tolerate tarmac, and weigh nothing

Worse than that, Jo. Part of eL Bee!'s day-job involves selling Inov-8s
Other fell-shoes might, of course, do the job equally well

Jo, I'm currently planning on doing it in roclites ... mainly as I don't own any mudrocs! Apart from little over-extension they were fine on the wet grass descents at garburn. And they will be excellent for rocky paths.
However I have been eyeing up some x-talons for a while, but not sure I'd want to go into an ultra in a brand new shoe. Hmmmm, decisions, decisions...
Wonder what discount can I get on 2 pair of f-lites and some x-talons? And would it cover the cost of a divorce!!

It's the "over-extension" bit that worries me Flanker
Don't think the shoes are worth the divorce btw
