how do they cope with the straps of a racsac - I've found that all the Paramo kit leaks through the point of contact And never sit on the wet ground in Paramo leg kit unless you want a really wet bottom!!

I've never had that problem with the Velez. The main reason for me is the comfort, the lack of rustle and, primarily, that the pump liner deals with sweat far, far better than any membrane I've ever tried, and being a very sweaty man...
Granted the water may come through the fuera as it is only a (now heavily!) DWR'ed windproof, but I'm not really bothered about a bit of soak through as I'll be generating far more underneath anyway!

I find that the 'pump' doesn't work particularly well - and that I get rivers of wetness pouring out of the arms and the waist.
Kit works well in non-humid conditions - like when you are skiing, but I'm yet to be convinced of their value in 'our' climate! Shame really, because I like the concept, and the designs are top notch!

Full-body Kamleika for me.
I've been completely unimpressed with the Nikwax Analogy thingummy-doodah that Paramo uses. I always end up with water running down the insides of the arms and dripping on to my hands.

strange how it works differently for different people. That's exactly why I hate Gore and eVent kit, never mind all the own brand versions.
And anyway, unless it's cold I'll be in vest and shorts. Wet's fine. If I can get away with it, I'll just be taking the fuera. It depends if they are fussy on the 'waterproof, not windproof' criteria.

According to the Final instructions we have to present our full kit list at registration - AND have to be there in person (no registering other folk if your are a 'team'!)

Yep, so it says. The Furea looks like a waterproof to the unknowing though

If the weather is like this, I'll be wearing my waterproofs AND carrying a set of tennis-ball windproofs.

Yeah, leave it to the well 'ard men to run around in their shorts and vests, I'll be covered in waterproofs from head to toe too

I'll have to join the 'well 'ard men' team as I get too hot in more than vest and shorts. Unless it's actually snowing. Sometimes not even then...
I just realised that I hadn't put the route on my GPS - but done that now. Finished packing as we're off up to Keswick in the morning. Lovely place and my OH has never been there so I'm looking forward to showing him round.
