Blea Moss was back to being soggy at the weekend - but I crossed it before the torrential rain on Saturday so it should a now probably more back to normal levels of soaked through rather than just soggy…..

I’m ready for my taper now.
Had last week as an intentional easy week due to being in the Lakes for Phals Ultimate Trails.
Had hoped for higher mileage this week, ending with an off road marathon today.
Phals cold from last week has finally got me, so have tried to take it easy and slogged out a 2 hour long run this morning.
I haven’t done the volume of running training that I’ve done this year for nearly 10 years, so hopefully it will show me some benefits and hopefully the taper will freshen me up and shake out the lurgy.

I seem to have started to taper last weekend, cutting the 55k short and then not doing much this week - and it’s not as if I had the mileage to taper from anyway!
Maybe next year I will stick to the plan?

I’m pretty sure you said the same last year and the year before and you did alright. Is there a sandbagging emoticon 😉

I’m now starting to get as nervous about getting the van on and off the campsite after all this weather as I am about the event.
I gather it was pretty messy last year and that was just a weekend’s rain after a fairly long dry spell.

Last year was torrential rain for over 24 hours that stopped just after the presentations I think.
If it’s dry in the build up it’ll be fine.
Says me, who’s staying in a house and won’t be anywhere near the camping field.
