I think I will risk it, and probably bail at dome point.
Mum fancied a trip so has booked a hotel for a few days, so we’ll be in the locale anyway.

Shame about the Greensands, its a nice ‘easy’ day out

‘Some point’

As far as I know there are no lumps on the route called ‘dome point’ :)

(Oh, it's not the Greensand Way, which is what I called it! That's a throwback to when I lived in Kent!)

That sounds like a good plan for the LT55 - you'll cover some useful miles.

Greensand ridgeway here, I knew what you meant - I think there are three greensand ridges around the south and I never know exactwhat each is called

Good to see some activity on the thread, must mean it’s getting closer.

I’m in for the 100, each year I think to myself I must get up there for some time on the course, mainly to see the bits I’ve never seen in daylight 🔦, never mind.

Good luck with DD Synge and the 50k RH.

I think you'll be fine with the LT 58k 3 weeks out RH. I'm still wondering whether to do the 100k or drop down to the 55.

Up until the last month or two training this year has been pants due to various health and injury problems, but unless I have a serious accident on the course I'm reasonably comfortable I can shuffle round and claim my lump of slate.

With or without the traditional nap at Tilberthwaite? :)

Thanks - I’ll probably start it, just aware that it’s not that generous time limit wise for fat old ladies!

Hopefully without the naps at Ambleside, Chapel Stile & Tilberthwaite. I was *very* tired!

50 for me. Sold my soul for a charity place. Plenty of training going on, inc a 21 miler from Ambleside to Coniston, then back to Langdale yesterday. No tune up races. So unless I grow a pair and do an ultra in training from home, I’ll be doing it on a diet of road 20’s.

Again.

So yesterday, really enjoyable run on the course. Ambleside to Coniston, but turned off on the road down from the Coppermines and took the trail that takes you to the road to Tilberthwaite. I then did the road to Tilberthwaite and reversed the course back to Langdale where we were camping.

Blea Moss and the last section are really dry. Blea Moss looks like even more of a motorway.
