I seem to remember that they laid some matting or boarding around the gateway, which is where most of the problem is likely to occur. (Might be wrong, I've driven into and out of so many muddy fields in recent years!)

I've marshalled quite a few times but this year i'm taking a friend to the start of the 50 and then mouching about the lakes a bit looking at some routes i have in mind. I did the same a couple years ago because she gets very car sick and was a wreck before she stated last time she got on the 50 bus. Good luck all , hope you have a grand race.

Unless you drive like a ____ it is easy to get out. I left last year perhaps between 9 & 10 ish and it was easy. If you left that early you didn’t see the carnage after the presentation etc! Was glad I had a nice hotel room to stroll back to. I’ve just cancelled my room for Sunday, was just going to be an expensive bath anyway, hoing to stay in the van up the road instead since I have a chaffuer this year. That’s nice of you, flip , the bus isn’t much fun even if you don’t get car sick. Hopefully gromit will keep me company again - we’ll probably be standing in the loo queue at Dalemain, say hi if you see us

Poor guy got roasted. She's a good mate Rosehip. I actually got her into ultras back in the day . She's not as fit as she was but that bus ride kills her . Anyway , i get a free day in the lakes and she gets a ride there and back. I'll no doubt bump into some old friends as well which is always nice as I don't run distance any more so see less of folk .
