Just starting to try and get back to class regularly again. Since starting uni in September things have not as easy as I hoped.
Anyhoo have they added more weight to the plates since then! 😂 Workout yesterday with power cleans had to do 25kg. I complained it was heavy and got told off lol.

The instructor says I haven't lost any of the mobility I had but he thinks I can do things to improve it (this might mean I can keep up with all the 'good' people my words and assumptions only) plan is to reduce my squat depth on air squats to the point where I can do them with keeping upright as I rend to bend. Need to work on hips and ankles for that. Overhead squats etc are good because I have the weight as a couter balance. Box jumps are reduced to smaller box or plates until I do them landing upright not vent over too. I know this is only going to benefit me in the long run so trying not to see it as a regression. I can continue to do everything else without modifications. Also managed a handstand today 🤸‍♀️
Really struggle with grip on the car doing toes/knees to bar etc. Tried some grip gloves but didn't help. A girl said just adjust your grip like this and did a little 'jumo' with her hands. Nope still slipped. Need to work on grip strength I think 🤔

Awesome work Cath and good luck I_W. Good going Sharkie above body weight is brilliant going!

Lifting weights must have made me look leaner, because I'm 3kg heavier than I was last summer but yesterday I was given a mild inquisition about my weight at the blood donor session. The scales weren't produced, but if they had been I'd have won.

That’s good, V’rap. I’m still in my winter fat storage mode and coupling that with building up some muscle I feel enormous. I’m trying to stay calm and await some fat loss come spring.

First competition of the year yesterday, and I am definitely with you on the fat loss issue, cath (I feel huge)!

I'm very chuffed I got 3 new PBs yesterday - 100kg squat, 47.5kg bench press and 140kg deadlift (at a bodyweight of 70.9kg). I also managed 8/9 lifts (failed first go at 100kg squat as I didn't hit full depth), which is also a major improvement on my first affiliated competition (missed a lift in each). I'll also have gained a qualifying total for the Classics Champsionship in July (qualifying total is 255kg for 72kg weight category).

I was a very small fish in a big pond yesterday, but very happy! Aim for the next wee while will be to lose a bit of weight/fat, maybe do some different things in training, and see what else comes up.
