Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Link worked for me - that routine looks very like what my coach had me doing either after a winter sprint session (not ALL of it, but most) or as part of a gym based workout.

All good moves I think. Things like box steps are really good (no that I like them exactly) because they can be quite explosive and you can also concentrate on good form. And they push the heart rate up if you do enough quickly enough.

Perhaps I'll give it a go today!

CK2 you can always scale it back a bit but keep the fundamentals of the workout there until you're more comfortable with the routine....

Chickened out of crossfit on Monday. Sat outside in the car thinking will I won't I, then I saw people running as part of the WOD and I said well that ain't happening and left without going in. I sometimes get so down on myself and tell myself I can't do it to degree I believe myself. I went last night and pushed myself in to do it. It was tough yes and if I'd known the WOD I would have said I can't do it but I did (yes it had running in it AND burpees!) I asked for help on my form for my gang cleans and he said my form is fine. When I asked why am I hurting now at the top of my arms..... answer because you're using them lol. No heavy weights last night practiced more gymnasticy stuff instead.

Good point early bird. I’m also starting a “New Rules “ program.

You did well to go back to CrossFit. I’ve sat outside several places and chickened out so know how difficult it is to get beyond that.

Well went on Thursday to the gym to the open session to practice my cleans. Feel a bit happier with my hang cleans but full cleans I feel are still a bit 'dodgy' I think it's the 'shit I have to get this off the floor' thoughts lol. I have found out what I think is a 'slight' issue but can be corrected. I hurt my right shoulder rotator cuff a few years ago and as a consequence it sits a bit further forward which I really noticed on the 'shrug'. I just need to make sure I'm rolled back properly during my set up. Picked up my foot position was slightly wrong and have corrected that. (bar needs to be over centre of foot, I go to the bar not the bar to me. Something I knew but 'forgot' when thinking of so much other 'stuff')

Went again last night to practice my overhead squats, cleans and front squats. Anything overhead scares the life out of me so I'm clinging to training bar atm for overhead squats. Anyone got any tips for overhead squats? I'm finding that when I think the bar is in the right position it feels like someone is tapping it to keep it in the back position, a really wierd sensation as they obviously aren't (yes I checked) and boy does it work my lats! I'm looking up the ceiling to try and keep my head up and form good.

For all I've only done form practice for the last two days I feel really tired and weak. Front squatting 25kg last night was enough I don't think I could've done more. Is this normal?

Well done EB! Overhead stuff scares me as well - still struggle with overhead presses just now, and did heaps of KB turkish get-ups and two-handed anyhows last weekend to build up overhead strength/confidence.

Got greedy with bench press last night - had managed top set of 5 reps at 37kg last week, then did 3 paused reps at 37kg with PT on Wed. Tried 38kg last night and only got 4 (then same when tried 37.5kg). Very annoying!

Also struggled a bit with deadlifts with PT on Wed (think the biggest issue was there were no barbells free, so we tried using the trap bar, which I've never used before). So much to think about!
