Have fun, Toks :)

I love turquoise. And mid-intensity greens and blues and greeny-blues in general.

I found a LWS/haberdashery shop in Wigton. It appeared to be doing plenty of business. Tink ALMOST persuaded me to buy some King Cole Riot in the yellow colourway, but I resisted, having just secured almost 200g of proper sheep-wool for 30p in a charity shop. It looked like one big messy skein and I thought it might be self-striping, but it's actually five smallish skeins and about half of it is cowpat-brown. But it'll do for odds and ends :)

I fancy joining a knitting group but just can't commit, you know, cos of stuff and life and that.

Turquoise it is. Or turkise in german. My wollmeise obsession is expanding my german no end (well, in that I had absolutely none to begin with!). I've also got some in Grashupfer (grasshopper - it's GREEN) and Himbeere (raspberry red). Can't wait to go to Munchen to try kaffee und kuchen, weissbier and lederhosen.....(preferably at the same time)

Having been dog tired from work - prowling around school with random pieces of paper and hanging about waiting for people to turn up for meetings is tiring - means I haven't had much knitting time. Hoping to finish up my X Factor Trash socks tonight.

I'd lke to ask redhead about her knitting/running. Does her record still stand?

How much Wollmeise do you think you could reasonably bring back, Spinkle? There is SO much that I like :)

Whatever I can fit in my check in bag. I'm not letting go in the hold.......

They're pretty compact (i.e tightly skeined) so I'm reckoning up to 20/25. I'll only get about 5 for me, I imagine. Most colourways are in the shop but apparently it's not always guaranteed. I shall be knocking on the door on the Saturday morning. It's only open at weekends and it's *horror* cash only!

[Drools anew.]

I shall work one full day for the sole purpose of spending the post-tax proceeds on Wollmeise :)

Maybe we should form a knitting realy for a marathon that allows relay teams and knit in different colours for each leg?

I'm doing the next September square in my mystery blanket. It's in a lovely Rowan cototn yarn- not as rough as the Guernsey I've been using this week.

Hoping to finish the 4 squares over next 2 weekends, then waiting for the last parcel with the final installment.

The LWS in Wigton sells vegan sock yarn. I am pleased about this :)
