very nice :)

I've got my sewing machine out for the first time in years as I wanted to see if it would still work for a van-curtain project.
This meanthunting through several-times-moved (as it has no proper home) sewing stuff, for the box of sewing machine feet.
I still haven't found it, but did come across this
1970s? or earlier?

I don't think anyone does much in the way of embroidery these days, do they?

Wow!
I have a couple of kids but not been brave enough to start them!
I have loads of silks left from cross stitch so should try something like that

I have a big box of silks too

I acquired both my nan' and great aunt's sewing boxes and knitting patterns when they died. I haven't got around to sorting them out yet (it's only been 12-15 years)

I’ve sorted my knitting needles this afternoon and cast on my new jumper (as previously discussed)

I need to sort silks, problem is most are left overs from kits so no labels!

You should give the embroidery a go!

Was googling to see if I could still buy feet.
This is the same as my machine. It was either a 16th or 18th birthday present

I doubt very much they'll get what they're asking!

Funny you should say that @Rosehip , I am thinking of taking up embroidery again, I used to love it in my teens.

I used to do lots of embroidery, it was just what was normal evening behaviour when at Nana's when I was young. Putting a monogram on a hanky for a christmas present for great grandma or mum - that sort of thing.
I embroidered stuff onto my kids clothes when they were little - usually to cover up a stain or a tear.
Haven't done any for many years.

Happy to post split and post if anyone want to see if the transfers still work after all this time - I've probably got loads more somewhere
