Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch
or for an ad-free Fetcheveryone experience!

It’s the whole hat - both photos are of the same hat, with and without flash :)

Excellent, FDNB :)

I have a couple of balls of reflective yarn. I got it to include in a jumper I was making for my oldest daughter, just for fun, but the "chunky" yarn I was going to combine it with was like a thickish Aran and the Lumio Lite, supposedly also chunky, was like ski lift cables. Memo to self: Check yardage per unit weight. I've still got it, might give it a whirl.

What reflective thread will do that? I'd like to get some to make a glowing hat for myself!

There are several brands of reflective yarns, or you can get a reflective thread separately and hold it together with the yarn or darn it into the finished knitting. Like these.

What fab yarn, FDNB! And (as a long-haired person) the pony tail gap is also a great idea.

Back in the olden days, my mum knitted a helmet with a bobble on it for every other child she knew, and she knitted me one with a hole in the top for my ponytail to go through. I may have pinched the idea occasionally over the years :)
