Meglet
I’ve been making bunting for my cycling club’s 10th anniversary. The black and white ones are our regular jerseys, the ones with the yellow stripe are a 10y special. I adapted the pattern from one for a rainbow jersey, I may make some of those before September.
I’ve currently got 10 so should make a decent string for next week’s celebration

I blogged my last crafty thing. The next one will be harder. It involves cake.

I'm blogging the cake. Is there an expert around who can tell me how to get air bubbles out of the ganache mix before I put the final layer on the cake?

Hmm, baking is usually about introducing air so that’s more tricky! I suspect it will be too thick to bang or tap the bowl to bring the bubbles to the top. Maybe try smoothing it against the sides of a bowl with a large flat spatula? (From mixing dental materials I can tell you it’s much easier to avoid getting bubbles than to try and remove them 😂)

None of the videos that I've watched have mentioned bubbles, and all their gaaches look smooth and siilky. Mine looks like a souffle.

Sorry Helegant - that's not a problem I've come across - banging the bowl down on the surface is what I'd try first

So far I've produced a cake where every step has been around 80% of the quality I'd like to see. Ho hum. Most of the time I'd tell people that 80% is good enough, but I'm in one of those moods where the missing 20% is beating me up. Bleugh. Back tomorrow, hopefully with a more constructive attitude. ttfn
