Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Thoughts please.
I finished this yesterday. The pattern also includes an unstructured jacket to go with it. I'm thinking a plain dark, inky blue linen, but I'm rubbish at fabric choices. Anyone got any better ideas?

Looking good! A very dark blue linen would complement your dress beautifully and be a safe choice provided you don't mind dealing with linen.

That's beautiful. Definitely a blue linen jacket. And if you could make it all again for me for work that would be good too...

I think I'd like to try a GBSB challenge although I'm not sure when I'd be able to commit to if, I suppose I'd just have to make the time.

That dress is wonderful, fantastic work.

I've not done much recently, although I have made some cloth sanitary pads to save me money and the world! They work well despite looking a bit rough and simple.

Who's got an overlocker?
I want one for my birthday but don't know what to look for - prices seem to go from ÂŁ200 to over a thousand and I don't quite know where to start.

I do...it’s an old one toyata that i got on ebay from a local seller years ago.. nothing fancy, but more than good enough for my needs. Wouldn’t know where to start with newer machines. They are supposed to be tricky to thread, but i’ve never had any problem as long as the right thread goes in the right place, and it’s all colour coded on the machine so tbh hard to go wrong..
The only thing i would say if you want to sew a lot of knits get one with with a differential feed so you can control stretch properly - mine has and it”s brill!

I bought one from lidl 2 years ago when they had them in, there was something wrong with it and no matter what I did the tension was all wrong, I threw my teddies out of the cot and took it back. I'd still like one, but I'll research it better next time.
