Sallykate lucky you, that's one of my pleasures of browsing craft shops whenever I'm over, although hubby and the kids aren't as keen!!!

I have a yarn stash as a result of trying to comfort-shopping for nest material instead of comfort-eating. If I'd comfort-eaten, I'd have spent less and lost the weight far more quickly than I'll knit up all the yarn |

Thanks Meglet. Just started my next pair - and boy what a difference between different brands of yarn!!! This new pair seem much thicker even though it's the same pattern and needles but a different brand of sock yarn. This makes me nervous now on ordering anything over the internet which unfortunately seems to be the way I'll have to go as I am VERY limited here only 2 shops do sock yarn - one stocks the very thin yarn and the other I have the colourways that they do. There is one more place I could try, but they are closed this week, so I'll have to investigate next week, but even then they don't have a huge choice or even a large choice!!! |

Nice socks. I'm going to try and crochet socks this year as part of my 'stop making rectangles' resolution. I left my crochet at home today, but things have got a bit stress and I would really benefit from sitting in a quiet corner with my hook and yarn and decompressing. |

Sewing people (I tried to write sewers, but feared it may be read incorrectly!!): where do you buy your patterns & fabric from? I want to make some coordinating outfits for Pip & Sqeak, as they are IMPOSSIBLE to find without spending a fortune, but haven't sewn for absolutely yonks...perhaps ten years? |

I've got fabric from myfabrics.co.uk - it has been ok but colours online are never quite the same as real life. It wasn't particularly speedy service either.

bedfordsewing.co.uk - I used to go here WL I made loads of daughter's clothes when she was little - often using material from my maternity dresses! - they had lots of pattern in, maybe not much fabric - online is better, will try to remember the one I've used, but it's been a while |
