Keep them if you've got space, Pix. When Gnome starts to knit, you won't want him buggering off to uni with your precious interchangeables ;)

I'm knitting a chunky hat with glow-in-the-dark yarn, just to get something knitted up quickly.

Don't get too excited, it's horrid.

There's a coarse reflective thread spun with the yarn and the effect is little random lines of reflectivity rather than the shape of the hat glowing in the dark. It's not particularly nice to work with.

If you want to make a garment reflective, it would be better to buy reflective thread separately and darn a pattern on to the finished garment.

Thanks for that - I'm trying to do a light weight hat for Equinox using bright yellow sock yarn as I have a little head and hats are always too big!

I've now got three projects ongoing...

A crochet top I really need to get on with as its summery-done the front just started the back
A jumper for me-less urgent but would like to wear in the autumn
Teen 1's blanket-not needed for over a year but it's quite attractive to knit as its small squares and quite easy to do!

been having a conversation with ladies on the Winwick mum facebook group.

someone was asking about the twisty yarn thing - annoying but we live with it. Then someone said that using a winder and caking yarn (even commercial) fixes this issue.

Not having a winder I wondered ... they aren't expensive but is it worth it?

anyone here use them?
