Morning all. Popping in to leave for anyone who wants.
Met MrsBridgewater and cathruns in the breakfast room
Right. Do I go for a PB or not? Running volume is up, speed is down but I only need 10:50 pace for a PB (although last year I clocked 27.01 miles at 10:37 pace on the Garmin - which pace do I need for sub-4:45?? I'm so confused.).

Always better to be over distance than the Manchester debacle, however I got a Garmin measured 26.72 miles today!!!
The medal (or should I say mini-shield) is totally awesome.

I'm glad I wasn't the only one: 26.73 for me from my Garmin.
You're right about the min-shield. I can't wait to get the second one of the pair at the Coyote Marathon in September.
And I've already signed up for the Roadrunner next year.

Over 27 for me, but I started the Garmin before the mat. I'll wait for the official time, think somethin g around 4:35 which is all good as I had a lovely chatty run and felt fine

Cheers FR, just over a 2 and a half minute PB for me today although those last 4 laps were tough for me.

There I was, enjoying the occasion, perfect morning conditions, hit 14 miles at 2:02. Then at mile 19, I cramped up and couldn't shift it, finishing in just over 5 hours having had no choice but to walk nearly all the final 7 miles.
My Garmin recorded 26.81 miles but a lot of that could be down to me not following the racing line to allow faster runners through on the inside.

Lovely to see you today Scooby Dave You looked in fine form, so well done on the PB.
Surrey Phil - I kept moving over for the faster runners too, but I wouldn't expect it to have made me run an extra 0.8 of a mile!

No, probably not 0.59 miles. But that's a debate for the accuracy of GPS devices against the official course measurement.

I know, and it's not an issue for me. I'm certainly not going to be complaining about it, it is what it is and I was there for a good steady run in great company, which is exactly what I got.
