If you were going to run a marathon in....

Max71 Mar 2013 12:31pm, 2 Mar 2013 27,584 posts	0 Max71 ....May. And you only had the weekends of 11th & 12 or 18th & 19th available, which one would you do? What is Halstead Like? What is Orpington like? (the marathons, not the areas!) I'm in London, I'd like to keep it close and not be travelling thousands of miles as a round trip.

Nellers Mar 2013 1:06pm, 2 Mar 2013 24,256 posts	0 Nellers I can't give you Halstead in comparison to others, Max, as it's the only one I've done so far BUT it's well organised, it's very friendly, the course layout means 3 passes by Fetchpoint, it's undulating rather than hilly and it was too hot when I did it in 2011. I'd go back, though, and there's still an outside poss that I might be doing it this year (lookign less likely as I get back into the swing since my flu).

I haven't run it myself but people say it's nice and not too hilly. Nobody seems to mind that it's 2 laps (the course is a figure of 8 and FP is in the middle of it, that's why you go past 3 times
