Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

....May.

And you only had the weekends of 11th & 12 or 18th & 19th available, which one would you do?

What is Halstead Like?

What is Orpington like?

(the marathons, not the areas!)

I'm in London, I'd like to keep it close and not be travelling thousands of miles as a round trip.

It's one of those names that you hear over the years....that's why it is on my radar.... what makes it a good one? Is it 5k?

I can't give you Halstead in comparison to others, Max, as it's the only one I've done so far BUT it's well organised, it's very friendly, the course layout means 3 passes by Fetchpoint, it's undulating rather than hilly and it was too hot when I did it in 2011.

I'd go back, though, and there's still an outside poss that I might be doing it this year (lookign less likely as I get back into the swing since my flu).

Have done Halstead before and it's a great event, I can also reccomend the North Norfolk marathon for a great two lap scenic mainly off road marathon on May 19th.

Halstead usually has a Fetchpoint and I am usually there.

I will probably be there this year too.

I haven't run it myself but people say it's nice and not too hilly. Nobody seems to mind that it's 2 laps (the course is a figure of 8 and FP is in the middle of it, that's why you go past 3 times

North Norfolk is a bit too far away for a day trip..........
