Race for life is sometimes held in Chantry park and sometimes Trinity park (suffolk show ground).
Chantry park is a great location for those having to travel - close to A12/A14

Of course not Rory!
I had contacted parkrun myself earlier in the year to try and get one set-up in Frinton/Walton, but somehow don't think I'd get the support needed (funds). We do now have a 5k series in Clacton, expensive though, so maybe something could be set-up there. will think on it a bit more later in the year.

2012 Legacy is a great one for the Council to use to justify such a small initial outlay. I'm of the opinion that once Ipswich is established and the volunteer side picks up, someone who regularly volunteers from the Colchester area will get addicted, realise it isn't as difficult to run as they might have thought and think about setting up their own.

Rory, that's how I got the funding from Southend Council - 2012 Legacy.
I was hoping the same for some Chelmsford types

Hard to believe that it is just 11 days to go until the inaugural event - Now it's just a case of hanging around and trying to figure out how many people will turn up and will I have enough volunteers!!!!
At present there are 140 runners registered with Ipswich as their homerun, 158 that have liked the FB page and 9 watchers here I am currently planning to cope with anything from 20 up to 150. Just have to hope a whole squadron from Colchester Barricks doesn't turn up at the last second.

I might wear my Barking Road Runners top just to be diff to everyone else - Or I might just put on one of the rare parkrun volunteer tops and matching baseball cap. I know one thing for sure, I will be carrying a clipboard and stopwatch as I will be timekeeper for the first run.
