Ah yes, it does say that, Craggy. But seriously, what feckin' use is that? We want average and peak hr, do we not? Or am I missing something here?

It is a bit of a strange one Muttley, I think a lot of ergers ramp up the pace a bit in the final few hundred metres, so displaying the end HR doesn't really give a true reflection of the effort across the duration of the split/rep!

Thanks Craggy! 10 x 199m is a tough set of intervals. 100m reps are short enough to be anaerobic, 500m are certainly anaerobic, but these ones fall in the middle.

I need to have another go at connecting my old Garmin HR monitor to the PM5. Wondering if it's possible using the ANT+ USB connector into the back of the PM5?

My android phone has just installed an updated version of ErgData from Concept2. At a first glance, it’s a big improvement. They are saying that the ability to get the WOD from the app will be added.

Just checked the iPad and no new iOS version yet and nothing on the C2 site.

That sounds really good, Scooby Dave. Hopefully an iPhone version is in the way soon.

Yeah, there's a lot more data shown on the app. And it looks like the ability to set up workouts on the app.

I'll give it a try in the morning. I would miss pressing B-B-A-A-C-B-D etc to copy the WOD once they get that working but setting up workouts in advance on the app and then syncing would be great if it works.

I normally use the iPad when I row but I'll use the phone tomorrow to test the new version

Not sure about the USB connector Andy but def worth a go, I bought a Polar H10 which works well, and the Wahoo TICKR seems a popular choice.

Thanks for the heads up Dave, I've just updated it and it looks a big improvement, will look forward to trying it out tomorrow👍

Ok, so the iPad has also updated with the new version of ErgData. I can’t see any obvious differences to the Android version.

Time to go and test it out.

I got the update overnight and I've had a quick look. Setting up a variable time interval session is very simple and straightforward.

I'll be testing it out "live" before work with warm up, 2 x 11' @ r20, warm down.

Can't see any option to "name" a session which would be nice if it's there somewhere.

Quick review of the update: it’s good!

First tip for users setting up a variable interview session when you’re half asleep: make sure you don’t confuse minutes and hours and set yourself up with a 9 hour warm up!🫣
