A 5 min rest for 2km efforts feels like the intensity is meant to be pretty high. I would have thought that you want the efforts somewhere close to your anaerobic threshold, so above the level where you could string a sentence together but not flat out.

90 minutes of weights/strength work plus a 5km steady state row this morning. I had intended to do a second session yesterday on but didn’t feel 100% so binned it off. Felt fine this morning though.

Nice going Nellers :)

Muttley love the 50:50 antiperspirant commercial image for the cbreeze - very accurate, I had a beautifully chilled right knee, it certainly helped a bit but the uneven cooling feels slightly weird. Hour done.

Managed to get ergdata on the tablet to link, interesting seeing the Drive Length, Drive Speed, Average Force and Peak Force numbers in flight. Played around a bit to see how it affected the numbers - any pointers on what to aim for ?

Banjo, that ErgDatastuff can link to Fetch via the Concept2 Log website. You can then get pace, power, stroke rate graphs and any splits on your Fetch log too by importing it as a TCX file. It's a bit fiddly but if you like your stats I think it's worth it.

Hi all, I've been using Fetch logs since 2006 but I think this is my first time on the forums. I've read back a few pages and I'm looking forward to getting to know you all. Sorry to hear about your father Nellers, I lost also my Dad in April, my thoughts are with you!

I've been running for 31 years but I quit in April after 3 years of knee and hip pain, I've been concentrating on rowing since then and thankfully I'm pain free now 😊

I've just entered BRIC which will be my first competition, I'll be n the 40-49 lightweight category. Hopefully see some of you there?!

Hi Craggy. Sorry to read that about your dad too.

Hadn't realised you'd switched to rowing due to injury but I had done a bit of light stalking when I spotted you on the distance league. You're going very well and maybe the strengthening effects of the rowing will get you back running at some stage.

Still umming and ahhing about BRIC myself. It's going to depend how things go in the next few weeks. Erring towards not bothering as I'm not sure I'd be able to PB by then and unless I can put in my best performance I don't want to bother. I honestly wouldn't mind doing a PB and finishing last but being back end of the field with something less than a PB would be hard to swallow.

Also I think I'm a bit bulky to get in the lightweights so I'm up against the Bigger Boys!

Nellers - Cheers for the comments

I'd originally uploaded from C2 much as you said but using a FIT file, then after your comment uploaded the TCX too for comparison.

Both seem to have the same numbers for power etc under Fetch's splits table and the same pretty graphs, the, only differences I could see:

- FIT came in as running general which I had to edit, it showed the splits from the PM5 in Notes & Comments
- TCX came in as general cross training, which was closer but still needed an edit - but only had the session totals in the Notes & Comments

Might stick with FIT for when I do custom intervals sessions unless I've missed something - any advice appreciated

Thanks Nellers! Yes I think the strengthening from rowing has helped, although my knee pain is arthritis and it always seems to flare up 3-4 weeks into training. I'm not missing the running at the mo but I'll probably get the urge to run again one day.

Yes you can decide on BRIC in 6-8 weeks if entries are still open then, you might find yourself in pretty good shape with a solid 8 weeks behind you! Haha there are some big fellas in the heavyweights, I'm usually about 2lb under so I need to keep away from the pies during the next 10 weeks 😉

168 lbs is the cut off isn't it Craggy? I'm about 170-172 at the mo but it is coming down a bit. Not convinced that I'd be confidently sub 168 by then.

165lb mate... you're not far over then! If not this year then its certainly worth considering long term and going into next year.

Last year about now I was thinking it was one when my back pinged! I'm starting to think it's never going to happen. I went along last year after racing had ended to collect one of the competition-used Concept2s and the atmosphere was great.
