Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

It doesn't seem to get the elevation (total ascent / descent) data when it uploads; everything else is fine but those fields are blank. Anybody else have this?

To make it more interesting, it has managed to get ascent / descent data once, but not before or since.

I have a Garmin Forerunner 405, Windows 7, IE10.

I observed that Gamin communicator plugin version is up to 4.1 now (as of October 23, 2013), from 4.0.4.

This fact may be relevant or irrelevant to Lou's question. Or of interest or non-interest to people.

I googled it and got a complicated response on a Microsoft site -thought it would get a more sensible answer here. It goes through the download sequence then when the installer closes reloads the Garmin website windows which then says communicator plugin not installed?

I'll wait and see if anyone finds a solution.

From the Garmin forums: forums.garmin.com
They're all pointing the finger at Garmin over there, but it sounds more like Windows and IE becoming exceptionally paranoid with this release. Chrome or Firefox should work better. Sporttracks may be scuppered by this, going by some of the comments on there.

About This Thread

Maintained by fetcheveryone
Just a little note to say thanks for all the comments here and via feedback. The test phase was useful for knocking off a lot of bugs, but there's nothing like the thrill of putting something live to really get that usability feedback flowing :-)

Here's the TO DO list following feedback from users:

1) Solution for only showing runs since last update - DONE
2) Links on successful import to allow direct route to edit/view - DONE
3) Avoid reloading data on choosing different time view.
4) Stop people pressing the button more than once - DONE
5) Auto detect sport where available.
6) Fix rogue pace zones (reported by Duchess, MacApple et al)
7) Max speed (for Mick173)
8) Smoother import of elevation data.
