I originally bought a cheap one ages ago, found it uncomfortable so gave up using it. Then when I was upgrading my garmin I decided to pay a bit extra for a 305 just in case I wanted to use the HRM. After a few months I used it and was surprised at how much more comfortable it was than my cheapo one

Thanks WTG. I do find maintaining 85% a struggle and i want to do at least one hard session a week in this training plan.

the bra with the HR insert that I have is pants ... I use the Enell (for bigger busted birds) and no strap and it's perfect

I am of modest cheast size EP, so maybe it will work for me... it is more like a support/compression crop top than a bra. But it may well be a mistake...

Right, tonights session was weird. This is the hardest session I do, it is leik intervals/temporun combo. I warmup for 1km, then run at my ideal racepace for 10k for 2.5 km 4.45 min/k then I run at realistic and target racepace for 10k 5min/k again fr 2.5 km then 1 km warmdown.

So today I tyried pushing the heartrate above 170... and I only succeeded briefly when I was running 4.18 min/k!!! Which is way too fast for me... so I dropped the pace back to what I nromally do and average HR for the session was 158 bpm, for a very hard session!

Do I have my MHR wrong? I based it on flatout intervals a couple of years back, done for the purpose of establishing my MHR... my RHR is 39 at the moment... and MHR was tested at 198 2 years ago...

i think that parker says as you get fitter you find it harder to get to your 85% level. I find it quite easy to get there!!looks like I have a long way to go.

doubles again yesterday
3.6 miles in the am
2.9 miles to the gym
30mins of core work in the gym
1.7miles home
all runs were below 70%

Not only Parker, but anecdotally people will *tell* you that it is the case!
Running hard is always *hard*. You just get quicker at it, and recover more quickly :)

Methinks Hann is WAY faster than she thinks she is. :-)

If I were you Hann, I'd keep trying to push the hard sessions up into this range. You aren't exactly slow now but you would be very fast with a bit of speed training by the looks of it. :-)

I agree , Ian!

Hann - you sound a bit like Velociraptor did, until she stopped 'thinking' like a 'plodder'!
Then all of a sudden, paces that she thought were beyond her imagination - became everyday!!!!

I think your coach is right!
