RT- I'm considering carrying a bike bell to alert them of my presence! I'm not difficult to spot- in my union jack buff and generally Fetch shirt!!

Typical, a cooler day today for when WW goes on his run, no wonder he is better than me, he gets to run in the better conditions!

I've often thought about a bycle bell girlie, I get really annoyed when people are walking towards me as a couple or triple taking up the whole pavement then move over about an inch for me to get past. I generally accidently give them an elbow as I go past if that is the case.

Hellen, it's usually ninja penshioners I seem to get, who are determined to take up the entire path and roadway! I usually cross the road if I can to avoid them.

Bus stops are the worse as they keep bobbing out to see if the bus is coming with no regard for me heading towards them at a (half) decent speed. I now run out into the bus layby to keep out of the way!

No wonder I get HR spikes!

I sometimes run around charwood water which is a loop of 0.75 miles. On a sunday morning there are a group of sad old men with these odd remote control boat things. They seem to think they own the place and refuse to move for me to get past, the path is very narrow so it is impossible to get past without them moving

*hopes girlie doesnt get hit by a bus!*
I have considered a cat collar with a bell on it as i have often made people jump out of their skin and i thought it would give them some warning, though how they can miss my fairy footsteps I dont know! I am worried it might encourage dogs to want to play with me though.

Rt- it's ok, cos i'm usually running towards the bus, so have pleanty of warning if it is heading towards me! Tbh it's safer there than on the pavement!

Maybe we could have Fetch collars and bells or maybe a Fetch whistle to alert passers by of our presence!

Everything you need to know about training with a heart rate monitor. Remember the motto "I can maintain a fast pace over the race distance because I am an Endurance God". Mind the trap door....

Gobi lurks here, but for his advice you must first speak his name. Ask and you shall receive.

A quote:

"The area between the top of the aerobic threshold and anaerobic threshold is somewhat of a no mans land of fitness. It is a mix of aerobic and anaerobic states. For the amount of effort the athlete puts forth, not a whole lot of fitness is produced. It does not train the aerobic or anaerobic energy system to a high degree. This area does have its place in training; it is just not in base season. Unfortunately this area is where I find a lot of athletes spending the majority of their seasons, which retards aerobic development. The athletes heart rate shoots up to this zone with little power or speed being produced when it gets there." Matt Russ, US International Coach
