Might be a better option if you’ve not booked parking as I think you can tram from there. But I don’t know the area that well. We are staying in salford quays as it’s walkable. I’m sure nelly will be able to help.

Katy - do you mean Holiday Inn (Express) Trafford City??? If so, that’s close to the Trafford Centre, not at Salford Quays. The good news is there’s a few Italian/pasta restaurants in the Trafford Centre within walking distance. The bad news is the Metrolink line to the Trafford Centre isn’t complete yet, and it’s just less than 3miles from the race village at the cricket ground, so race day transport may need to include a car.
If I’d have seen your post earlier I’d have recommended staying at the Midland as it’s central (for restaurants) and easy from the Metrolink on race day.

Katy - if you’re at Salford Quays then that’s a lot different to Trafford City, and a LOT more convenient for the marathon start.
