it's never going to win any awards for being an interesting course, and last year it didn't even feel that flat, but the support around the course was top notch.

Flying down this morning. Sunblock packed.

Not expecting anything this year just going to try and enjoy it.

Expecting anywhere between 5:30 and 6:00 so you will all have gone home by then.

Have a good one everybody. :)

The met office predict almost ideal weather, but predicted wind back up to 6 mph after going down from 8 to 4 earlier this week. I'm hoping that most of us will have finished before the cloud disappears after about 2PM.

Corrah: I'll be thinking of those who are still battling.

Not convinced I'm much slower than this time last year despite a number of training shortcomings, but I know the lack of long runs will find me out. I probably have the speed to try 3:15 again, but not the endurance. Any PB would probably do (it currently sits at a laughable 3:34:xx) but I'll set out at 3:30 pace and see how I feel.

Just wanna say.. Manchester has finally got the marathon it deserves. I've kept out of the discussion this year.. best be silent than negative right?
But what a day today..the athlete's village was great, the water stations and gel stops were spot on, the marshals were fab, and the weather played ball..and I didn't have to wait to pick up my bag afterwards. Even the alcohol free beer didn't taste to bad in the sunshine...
Credit where its due.. I can actually recommend the race to people in future.. :)
My run wasn't bad, I've been having a bad time with injuries the last year and a half, so was really pleased to slip in under 4hrs for the first time since 2015. Time to build on this and hopefully improve in the future..

Agreed. Last year they rightly got slated. This year they absolutely nailed it and I hope the praise is as loud as the criticism was.

Glad you liked it, we spent nearly 5hrs giving it out today. Nice to chat with BFC, Ultrahamster & Plodding Hippo over their respective beers :)
