My new race number is updated on the RaceTec site so they must have changed it #12101

My number arrived, no safety pins, luckily I have loads of them.
11k this morning with a wee 2k at MP, for those 2k I felt I was running a lot harder than I thought I would - I'm telling myself my legs hadn't woken up yet.
Does anyone do a pre-race massage?

Popping in to wish everyone luck - there will be orange clad Race Angels again at around mile 24 should anyone need them - I won't be there with them this year as the race clashes with Liverpool Half Marathon

My number arrived today. So relieved. I only saw one thing about a group of people from Carlisle not getting their numbers on the Facebook page so it does sound like a small issue and just bad luck. I'm a bit more rational now. Thanks for the info on the racetec site damo. I can now calmly marshal at the park run then head down. I'm starting to look forward to it again.
Good luck to everyone running.

I had planned to follow the 3 hour paced group for 2 miles, then pick the pace up and pass them. However, after seeing the number of finishers last year within a minute of 3 hours, I'm concerned that a 200-odd strong pack may take time to pass through and cause more stress than it's worth. My new plan is to start and run ahead of the 3 hour paced group for the first about 2 miles, then push-on.

I don't recall any significant congestion last year, I think I was pretty much bang on 2:55 pace from the off. No problems getting a start position close enough to the front.
Still planning to have a go at 2:50, but might well drop off that at any time. Maybe I'll see you somewhere on the course

JDA - Thanks for congestion info: I won't fret so much if I can't get in-front of the 3 hour pacer for some reason. I'll be easy to spot in my "Tesco value" blue & white striped club vest. My goal is sub 3 so I'll not be keen to push on faster than 6:40 per mile, and as much as I'd like to chat, I hope that you will be streets ahead.
Damo - I had a similar experience with my Wednesday night marathon paced run at a high heart rate and making me sweat, which I'm putting down to being at the end of carb depletion. No massages for me beyond the usual self-administered palpitation of aching areas: I'll stick to usual stretching routines.

Bumped into clubmate also running, he is much quicker than me normally but not done a road marathon (I think he's done long off-road races though). He said he was planning to go with the 3h pacer to half way and push on from there. He may also be in the neon green vest (or not).
