"The Manchester Marathon (North) was fairly certainly short, although a remeasurement has not yet been possible. Again, there is insufficient detail in the measurement data. Ken Kaiser said that the same course will now be used for next year and he is measuring it shortly. This should confirm the course length." |

Anyone else feel like GMM are keeping the course measurement thing high profile as it is helping to distract from their cock ups around parking, baggage, etc.?

Anyone else seen this? coursemeasurement.org.uk There are other races in doubt too apparently (Wilmslow Half, Congleton Half, Macclesfield Half etc) I'll try and get some more details. |

Nelly just showed me that jennrywren. I could potentially lose my 10k PB as well now since I did that at High Legh. Amazing it has happened in that many races over that many years and not been discovered earlier.

I'm amazed that this is apparently the only organisation that measures courses? And they don't seem to inform anybody except Power of Ten! Baffling.

I've been waiting for this news to break... I think I intimated on this thread a few days after the GMM story broke that this might be the case and the situation could get worse before it got better... I think the highest profile race, other than GMM, on that list is Trafford 10k which had a reputation for being very quick and attracted people from across the country. Over the years I've now potentially "lost" 9 PBs from race affected by this error, although thankfully none are my current PBs. |

Yes me too, although it hardly matters for me now! Still very disappointing news though and I'm sure Dave Norman is furious with them (well he is, I've just read the AW story). What a cock-up!
