To be fair Austria Ironman the other year did a 24 mile 'marathon' at the end I believe it happens in Tris My one was debatable but I didn't measure it properly as I had watch problems as I was f&*(ed coming off the bike.

It's still there Lark, I guess you can't look it up as a marathon anymore though!! Perhaps easiest way is to look for someone you know ran it, say a Wool who ran it as Datchet in 2013.

I thought you are "allowed" a certain percentage over or under when measuring race courses? Probably wrong but I did hear it somewhere in the distance past.

Cheers, yes - I was searching for "marathon" with "manchester" in the title. Switch "marathon" for "any" and it appears. They've obviously added it to a category of "not a marathon"!

Ultracat - the official way to measure adds 0.1% to any race distance so that if they are 0.1% wrong it is still at least long enough. So thats 1m for every 1000m, or 42m in the case of a marathon. But that is always "over", never "under".

According to my training log entry for Manchester 2015 I ran 26.25 miles, so I will count it towards my marathon total
