They should have told the pacers this year that it was the right length WW, because the 3:00 and 3:15 guys were reported to have finished over the time - if they also ran previous years that would kind of explain it

Not sure what time the 3:00 pacer finished in, but he did state on the start line that he'd paced it the last few years. I'm also uncertain if he picked up the pace towards the end, or if the growing gap between me and him was all down to my gradual decline in pace!

It never rains but it pours... There's no doubt the organisers are going to feel the heat on this issue, especially on the back of the baggage issues, although it's hardly their fault that AUKCM messed it up. Nor, would I say, is it their responsibility to publicise the issue until AUKCM had undergone a full investigation. I suspect the delay in announcing this will have at least in part been due to the need for AUKCM to what/if any effect the (lack of) calibration on this particular wheel had on races measured at the same time with the same wheel. |
