I'm off to see Scott Lavene at the Face Bar in Reading tomorrow. Last time I saw him he was excellent, so I'm really looking forward to this one. Last I heard there were still a few tickets available.

I thought MrsGH would be up for this one, but it turns out anything that involves standing for a couple of hours is too hard on her back, so I'm now picking on graduates at work to act as a surrogate child. (Both of mine are away at uni).

Some venues will provide a stool or seat at the bar if you ask nicely

I went to see folk legends Oysterband last night. They’re playing again at the same venue tonight so I’ll be there once more hoping for a different playlist, which they implied they’d do

Fontaines DC were excellent in Glasgow last night. I was worried that the Ovo (14k capacity) might be too big for them but their sound was able to cope although the support act Sorry were a bit lost in the bigger space.

They played most of the new album coupled with the hits from previous records which all went down very well with a lively young crowd. I took my youngest offspring with me who really enjoyed it.

Idles at Brighton Centre last Sunday. Awesome energetic gig in a packed venue.

Last time I saw Idles was at Concorde 2, maybe a better venue.

I'm liking the new album.

I was at the OVO in Glasgow last night for Pete Tong - Ibiza Classics with the Jules Buckley Orchestra. I really enjoyed it, especially the tuba guy's solo for Zombie. They put lots of gorgeous shots of Ibiza on the big screen and now I want to book a holiday in Ibiza. Quite a few videos posted on you tube if you want to see a bit.

Glad you enjoyed it! I worked a Pete Tong HERO gig in the summer and it was my highlight. That Tuba for Zombie blew my mind. I was working right in the pit in front of him and it just went right through me :-)
Paying to see it next week in London.

He was having a great time, waving his hands in the air when he wasn't playing, getting the crowd going! How cool to work at a Pete Tong gig 😀.

I bet! And the skill of the orchestra to play at that speed :-)

Looking forward to being a member of public.

I've been very jammy this year with working gigs and festivals. But Pete tong was one of my stand out ones.
