A mum I knew had this and was referred for Physio. Might be worth a trip to your GP?
It's no consolation but. I'm in the same place re my body, I'm eating all the time. Nothing fits me and my maternity jeans (yes, I'm still wearing them) have a hole rubbed between the legs as I'm that Lardy. I'm struggling to buggy run too. Not any help sorry. Misery loves company
I'm in a head/heart tussle about bf. I think it might be good to stop. I'm knackered, he's waking at 1 and 5am. I have thrush again. But a part of me really doesn't want to stop.

Bless you, thrush again not good I guess you wouldn't know if stopping bf would stop the waking and tiredness. It's a tough one isn't it. I saw myself with a firm 6 month stopping time when I started but now can't imagine stopping.

Krissie, suggest you need to talk to gp and get some physio. I do remember when i did a specific post-natal pilates class the instructor was very thorough about chcking newcomers for a 'gap' and if it was a certain size (likely 2cm), then she advised not to do some of the exercises - danger of pushing the gap wider / muscle not knitting back properly etc. So I would be very careful and get some advice. I am surprised that you weren't offered some post natal physio at the time for it? I am sure that you would be entitled.
Re the bf, hats off to you - but surely it doesn't have to be exclusively one or the other - I mixed fed for 4 months and it worked fine - gave me a bit more sleep / freedom to train but also meant he still got some (*). I know it can mess with the supply, but it can work as long as you are happy to sub some feeds for bottles and express a bit too. xx

They don't have a postnatal physio service at the local hospital, they told me that when I went to see the anenatal physio service for the pelvic girdle pain. My abs also weren't checked at my 6 week check, only noticed the 'ridge' later on. I have been to see two physio's privately, the first was a general sports one and the second advertised as specialising in postnatal and both gave quite different and vague advice on the diastasis recti issue even though they seemed really knowledgeable on the pelvic girdle pain. I guess a referral to a general physio might be possible through my gp. I'd be up for paying privately as I'd like to get some advice on the right thing to be doing asap so that I don't waste time not doing stuff that I could be doing to help it/not doing anything to harm it whilst waiting for a referral to come through, but can't find any other private service local that advertises as specialising in postnatal. Will keep searching!

I also managed to terrify the second young female physio that I saw with my birth story and tales of laying down breastfeeding (well she did ask what made my back pain worse!). She muttered at the end of the appointment that she might wait a while longer before having any children, oops!

I had to completely abandon any ab exercises post baby 3 as mygap was more than 2 fingers too. there are pilates type exercises that help close it or make it less apart, I have a friend who is an ante-postnatal persoanl trainer who helped me....could you find someone in your area?

MummyV, did you manage to close it in the end? I've found some exercises on the Internet specifically for it which I'm doing now and which have helped my pelvic pain no end also in the space of only two days.
Won an Out and About Nipper Sport running buggy on Ebay yesterday, should be delivered Thursday so hopefully we will get to try it out at Parkrun on Saturday
Little man is 5 months today. Since 16 weeks we seem to have been getting growth spurt upon growth spurt. He's feeding at least once an hour during the day, this week has started waking every 2 hours in the night again. I'm nackered, and very, very hungry!!
