No, sorry, I'm being unfair on them. They said they'd open a ticket to put it in the activity view, and it is there under Miscellaneous, as recovery rate [drop]

It seems fairly mysterious that Garmin have included the feature for quite some time now (my last 4 Garmins have had it), but do so little with it. It is fair enough to question its usefulness but there are many metrics of more questionable merit visible in Connect, the much beloved HRV for example.

Yup, and it's captured whether you view it or not.

Sorry, I thought (still do tbh!) this was ambiguous; on my watch at least if I leave it for two minutes it beeps and then just displays the recovery data.

My reading of what you posted was that it captures it even if you don't wait for the display to appear which would be different.

Newer watches you have to go and view it otherwise it's never displayed just recorded. As a follow on from your post, Badger's makes sense if you have a newer watch (I actually forgot how the older watches worked till you mentioned it).

Understand why you were confused now though. What do you have?

I'm still amazed that Garmin use a 30 min average for resting HR. Even a 10 min average feels long.

That makes sense. I was driving at what SPR said, current models don't automatically display it, and thought it was obvious that your watch wasn't going to record a two minute drop if you don't wait two minutes to save the file.

I'm on a 645, it beeps and then shows the data. How do newer ones work then? Presumably they still only record it if you've waited the 2 minutes before hitting "save"?

It's available as menu item on the watch after stopping activity. You can watch it countdown the two minutes and see the HR during that time and then it beeps when done. Otherwise you can just save after two minutes without viewing.

OK, ta! Quite nice to be able to see it falling in those two minutes.
